MSAD #60 End of Year/Summer Technology FAQ

 

 

All student devices must cleaned and turned in with charger and case by the following dates at the latest.


All devices not turned in will be deactivated, and students will be billed for the replacement cost of the device. Damaged student devices will be billed as normal.


Senior Laptop Turn-in: 5/31- 6/6

NHS Seniors: Must pay any outstanding balances prior to red-carpet week. (see Step 2 below). Please use Google Takeout to transfer files to a personal Google/Gmail account. Access to school account will be turned off on 7/8.


NHS grades 8-11: 6/13 - 6/20

No Summer Take-home for Grade 8.Summer Take-home: 9,10,11 students may check out their Chromebook for the summer by completing the following by 6/20:


Step 1: Go to and review our Chromebook Information & Responsibilities Guide and our Chromebook Use and Care Guide.


Step 2: Pay any outstanding invoices. Install the MSB app or Login to https://www.myschoolbucks.com to see if you have an outstanding invoice. Invoices will appear on your dashboard if any exist for your students. Outstanding invoices could include fines for damaged/missing library books or Chromebooks. If you have the missing Chromebook or library book in your possession return it and the fee will be waived/refunded.If you have never logged into My School Bucks before, you will need to create an account. Once you have done that you can add a payment method to your account and then add students to your account.You cannot use existing lunch funds to purchase items in the school store or to pay invoices. Cash/Check: are accepted at NHS Library if you prefer not to pay online. Checks should be made out to MSAD 60 Technology.
 

Step 3: Pay the annual $20 Chromebook User Fee ($10 for Free/Reduced Lunch Students). Accepted Payment Methods:Credit/Debit Card: Use the App or Login to https://www.myschoolbucks.com - Go to the School Store drop down menu and select "Browse All Items". You will see the Chromebook Fee as an option to purchase from the school store. Follow the prompts and checkout.You cannot use existing lunch fund to purchase items in the school store or to pay invoices. Cash/Check: Still accepted at NHS Library. Checks should be made out to MSAD 60 Technology.


Step 4: Chromebook inspection completed by library/tech staff during tutorial or free time.

Grade 8-12 Student Chromebooks

 

Grade 4-7 Student Chromebooks

All devices not turned in will be deactivated, and students will be billed for the replacement cost of the device. Damaged student devices will be billed as normal.


Grade 6-7 Collection: (No Summer Take-Home)

NMS: 6/17 - Tech will call classes to Library throughout the morning. See the steps listed above to pay any outstanding invoices, before summer pickup.


Grade 4-5 Collections: (No Summer Take-Home) ELKS & NBES: 6/18 LES: 6/19
Grade 4 Devices will be checked in and checked for damage and then stored securely for the summer in 4th Grade Classrooms for next school year. Grade 5 devices will be collected and transported to NMS for summer storage until the NMS summer pickup dates are scheduled.

Grade 2-3 Student Chromebooks

 
 

iPads (K-1 & Sped)

K-1 iPads & Carts: Please plug all iPads in on the cart (CHARGING) before you leave for the summer.

Teacher iPad: Assuming no service is needed, bring it home with you for the summer.

Leaving the district? Please Sign-out of your Apple ID if you used one and leave your iPad Charging on the cart for the summer with your charger and sync cable.

SPED iPads:

Please plug all iPads in (CHARGING) before you leave for the summer.

We will be coming around to classrooms replacing some of the older models again this year.

 

Teacher / Ed-Tech Chromebooks

Teacher Does your device need service?

No: Restart your device and keep over the summer.

Yes: Go to the Helpdesk and create a ticket, go to the Library and swap your device out for a spare. Keep the Spare for the summer.

 

All Teacher Chomebooks are being replaced when you come back in the Fall. Keep an eye out for pickup emails & dates.

 

 

Ed-Tech:  Does your device need service?

No: Restart your device and keep over the summer.

Yes: Go to the Helpdesk and create a ticket, go to the Library and swap your device out for a spare. Keep the Spare for the summer.

ALL STAFF:

If you are leaving the district, please use Google Takeout to transfer files to a personal Google Account & turn your device into the building before you leave on the last day of school. If you need assistance please email an integration specialist, Brigette Dumont or Heather Sanfacon.

 

All Staff MacBooks & Windows Laptops

Does your device need service?

No: Backup your local files to Google Drive. Check for software updates. Keep device for Summer.

Yes: Go to the Helpdesk and create a ticket.

 

We are replacing Secretary and SPED MacBook Airs in the Fall. Make sure to have your local files backed up.

ALL STAFF:

NHS Physics MacBook Airs

Physics: Email techsupport@msad60.org to create a support ticket for any broken or problematic devices.

No service needed? Store securely for summer.
